rhetoric of sports

Now granted, I knew that what I was getting into when I enrolled in COMS 560 "Rhetoric of Sports"...but then again...maybe I didn't. This class is basically 3 hours that I needed to have in order to keep my scholarships for my last semester here at KU that require me to be a "full-time student" at 12 hours.

Anyhow, the class is fairly easy. One paper so far and no mid-term or final scheduled...yet. Basically the class if for my instructor to be able to spout off anything he thinks about sports in general. Sometimes our classes are intellectual in discussion and sometimes it is a "what team is better", "what coach is better", "what player is better", "whoa did you see that play last night",. "Texas sucks", "Missouri sucks"...etc.

So with the NCAA Tournament coming up on Thursday...plus Spring Break...my teacher announces that he will be embarking on an (and I quote) "ethnographic field study on the rhetoric of sports bars...so I was thinking Henry T's. What do you all think?"

Yep, then we had a vote as to which bar we would go to for class...

Sometimes college just makes me smile...
