So my first name is "Mitzi". Well, no it isn't. "Mitzi" is a nickname for my legal middle name. Everyone calls me "Mitzi". However, for legal purposes and also for applying for jobs I use my legal name which causes some confusion.
For example, today I called the folks in Maryland that I interviewed with a week ago to see if I was a candidate for a second interview. As the phone is ringing and the voicemail picks up...I keep tell myself..."legal name, legal name...not Mitzi"...but as soon as the beep sounds I say "Hello, this is Mitzi..." Shoot! They only know me by my legal name!! So I quickly recovered w/my legal name and apologized for using my nickname.
Well, I guess if I don't get this job over the whole name game then I didn't want it in the first place.
A word of caution to my siblings who are expecting : don't name your children two different names...please...for my future nieces and nephews sakes
